Customers of the Month: Lessons from the Forefront of Automation
Every month, we're featuring a new customer of the month that's been able to realize process improvements by automating trade document processing through the Conexiom Platform.
We recently launched our Customer of the Month series to share how companies like Graybar Electric, Johnstone Supply, and Werner Electric are using the Conexiom Platform’s touchless automation to reduce order errors, deepen customer relationships, and reinvest employees away from repetitive, error-prone tasks like manual order entry.
We’ll admit, we’re proud to hear how our customers have successfully transformed their businesses with the Conexiom Platform. We share their stories so that companies stuck in a manual mindset can begin to envision a better way to process trade documents using automation.
Johnstone Supply LLC is the leading HVAC/R wholesale distributor of equipment, parts, and supplies, exclusively supplying products and services to 90+ individual Johnstone Business Owners.
Johnstone Supply NW is one of the 43 Johnstone Supply groups using the Conexiom Platform. They provide service to residential, light commercial, refrigeration, and facilities maintenance contractors and are one of Johnstone’s largest in the country. Founded in Portland, Oregon, Johnstone NW includes 14 branches stretching from Washington State to the San Francisco Bay.
After Johnstone NW’s Information Systems Manager, Mike Stram, noticed that customer service representatives (CSRs) were spending hours on the phone manually entering customer orders, he decided it was time to look for an automation solution.
Read the case study to learn how Stram went from identifying the problem to saying, “Conexiom is critical to our business. It allows us to stay current with automation, and customers experience lightning-fast responses.”
Werner Electric has been serving the electrical market in Wisconsin and Michigan since 1948. Their 400+ employees collaborate with customers and vendor partners to deliver cost-saving solutions, efficiency-promoting services and distribution of the industry’s finest products, boasting a wide inventory of over 24,000 different SKUs.
In the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) market, Werner Electric’s customers need just-in-time (JIT) inventory to arrive simultaneously as they are building a particular machine or conveyor.
Werner Electric’s inbound purchase orders can be hundreds of lines with dozens of varying release dates, and they must be entered without errors.
Entering these orders could take Werner Electric’s customer service team an entire day, taking away time spent with customers. Werner Electric turned to Conexiom, who is familiar with their Epicor Eclipse ERP system, to automate their order entry process with software.
Watch this video to learn why Continuous Improvement Lead, Mike Jirikowic, says, “Today, if we took our automation tool away from our customer service people, we would have a revolt on our hands.”
